haphazardly arini haven’t been around much… well, i have, but haphazardly. it’s been a busy coupla weeks.
memorial day weekend, my stepdaughter stopped by for a visit. i hadn’t seen her in absolute *ages* - something about *having a job* and *a boyfriend* and being 20 years old, she’s like… all busy >:O we hot-footed it over to house of pies, which used to be our weekly saturday night hangout back in the day - it’s a people watchin’ kinda place. (i recommend the chicken fingers and the ~bayou goo~ pie, though girlie recommends the chicken fingers and ~chocolate silk pie~ - she has NO taste in pies!!) we ended up comin’ back and watching the movie blindness. very ~lord of the flies~. odd little movie. somewhat disturbing.
we spent the next coupla days dealing with some family issues that came up. all taken care of, thankfully.
they’re coming to level the foundation at my mom’s building (we live in the same condo complex), so we’ve had to pack up all her stuff and move it to her 2nd floor, so that they can drill huge holes in her floor to install piers :| been there, done that, last year. it’s stressful, messy, and just a general pain in the ass. BUT. mom’s decided to buy a new tv, so while we were shuffling all her stuff, i gained her old tv. of course, this has sent me into a declutter phase, as her tv wouldn’t fit on my entertainment center, so i’ve had to reorganize all over the place. it’s a snowball effect - get rid of the entertainment center, then i need to put dvds, albums, etc into my trunk/coffee table, which means the sleeping bags in there already have to go into a closet, which means i have to clean out a spot, blah blah blah.) BUT. the new tv is bigger and the room feels less cluttered now, so i’m happy. i’ve just carried on decluttering through the rest of the house, which means my back room is FULL of stuff i want to get rid of or find another place for ;o i vill get it done, tho!
i still have to fix the speaker on top of the tv (it needs to be mounted on the wall), but i are gettin’ there:
hrm. what else? i’m working on setting up my etsy shop for crocheted items/patterns and still working at redoing http://www.hypnobird.com. i’ve been a bit haphazard with both, working at it here and there, but i’ll get it all done soon.
speaking of which, i need to go haphazardly attack the bathrooms and ~declutter~ there today, so adios, ciao, etc. i are around, i’m just bouncin’ ~everywhere~! call me tigger :D which reminds me, the cats (bonnie and clyde) seem absolutely thrilled with the spring cleaning/decluttering phase. they’re following me all about the house, inspecting everything i do and, since i’ve stopped smoking in the house, i have gained desktop kittehs:

i leave you with:
dave matthews’ song “squirm” off his new album
holstein fawn!bowie, an irc friend of mine who lives in texas, sent me these photos that his nephew took. ~beautiful fawn~ great photos :D
old bunnyi actually had posted this on x365, but i redid that post to bring it into line with the “41 words” and i’m posting this here, just cuz it makes me LOL ;P
i’ve had old bunny since i was a baby (and as far back as i can remember, i’ve called him “old bunny”). back then, he was a she with a beautiful apron. somewhere along the way, the apron was lost and old bunny became a he. everywhere i went, so went he. at some point in my childhood, his fabric had finally worn so thin that mom was unable to mend any holes on him, so she put a bandaid on his “boo boo”. of course, that didn’t stop me from continuing to drag old bunny around! oh no! there was always more bandaids, if needed!
i can *remember* sitting in bed at night when i was maybe 4 or 5, lining up alllllll my stuffed animals, and old bunny and i would “teach school”. or sing. loudly. and very likely, off key :o (old bunny could *never* carry a tune!!!) god help my poor parents :O
when i had finally moved away from home, mom packed him away. recently, she brought him to me in a little shoe box, because she didn’t want to dispose of him herself, she thought i should do that.
...
so.
...
old bunny now has an honored spot in my closet and will until even the bandaids rot away. (‘sif i could *dispose* of him
)
i give you…
a bunny only it’s girl could love :O
i have a BOOK of art…
as is my habit, i saved the amazon gift certificates that i’d been given for my birthday until after christmas, where i then go on a mad amazon shopping spree, attempting to clear my wishlist :O it’s completely guilt free shopping and i absolutely love it :D awhile back, i’d seen this book and it looked like it’d be interesting, so it was one of my purchases this year. let me just say… once the 18-wheeler was able to find parking at my condos and wrestle the box onto the forklift to drive it to my door, i opened it to find not just an art book, but an art *BOOK* i’ve had to completely clear off my coffee table as it’s the only place the book will fit in the house :O i now have a sofa and *BOOK* in my living room :o
... and it’s absolutely wonderful
each page has a piece of artwork and a short description and it’s got some really beautiful pieces featured in it. i’d like to find some sort of book easel/stand thingy to put it on. i’ll have to hunt around. i need one that’s not for a table top. if all else fails, i may try to make one, as it would look really pretty in front of my living room windows and i could have a different piece of art in the room every day ![]()
looking through it brought back memories of my first trip to the museum of fine arts in houston. i was in grade school and we were being given a little tour and suddenly, i found myself in front of this… *PAINTING*. i lost track of everyone around me and just stood in front of this one painting for ages.

Willem Claeszoon Heda, Banquet with Ham, 1656
this is just a portion of the bigger picture, which you can view in it’s entirety at the mfah
i’m really not sure what it is ~exactly~ that draws me to this picture. i’m really not a fan of “still life” all that much, but the *detail* in the painting is just overwhelming. standing before it, it looks as though you could step right into the painting and have a bite to eat. it always made me wonder… what happened to the people who’d left their table so suddenly? who were they? what were they doing?
more of his paintings…
tiltshiftmaker is entirely too much fun :Di’ve been playing around with tiltshiftmaker and having a blast trying out different photos…
