finally, camera works.

back when i was having foundation repair being done in the house, i went to take a pic of the work and after one picture, the camera went dead.  so i recharged the batteries, took one picture, the camera went dead. etc etc etc :|  i finally bought a new battery charger and the camera works again!! :D i was able to grab the couple of pictures i did manage to take of the damage done to my floors, even if they did come out incredibly poor.  there were about 9 other holes inside the house which i didn’t get to photograph and the picture looking down into one of the holes didn’t come out ~at all~.

all my furniture is crammed over into the space to the right of the sofa (if not upstairs).  all of it was covered with plastic, except on the weekends when i took pity on the dog and let her onto the sofa :o

what doesn’t show up in the photos well (along with the colours being off and weird artifacts appearing in them) is the layer of ~ew~ coating the floor.

if nothing else, my downstairs is now incredibly clean.  i’ve mopped walls, floors, wiped down all the furniture and furnishings.  the only thing i still need to do downstairs is clean the blinds… mostly because i’m undecided on the best way to clean them.  i ~think~ i’m going to take them outside and hose them down.  i’m leaving blinds til last tho.  i’ve shampood carpet on the stairs, cleaned girlie’s room upstairs (floors, walls, furnishings).  just have the master bedroom and bathroom left to do.  woohoo.

Wow, this seems to have taken so much of your time and energy… when did they first come to do the foundations again?  It’s amazing the impact that something like this has isn’t it?

it’s been like moving out and into a new place with all the packing and cleaning associated with it.  my mom lives in the same condos and they’re supposed to be doing her building next.  she’s positively dreading it.

they started with the building at the end of april, came into my unit during the first week of may and didn’t finish until the middle of june or so.  and THEN i still had to get the tile done.  woo.

i’m almost done with it all, at least.  then i have about 12 boxes of stuff to either find a place for or get rid of :O

they are supposed to come back and repair cracks that appeared once they leveled everything, but that should be easy.  there’s only a couple of spots… and my entire living room will get repainted, yay!  i can paint the rest of the house, but not that room, so that works perfect :D

it’s almost over, tho :D
