At it's center is a bright ball of green light hovering above the center of the room. Looking around, it can be inferred that this was once a sitting room, but all the furnishings have been pushed to the edge of the room and smashed. The heartbeat-pulse of the light ball is at a frenzied pace now, beating at break-neck speed. The bright green ball hovers in the center of the room, pulsing, it seems, in time with your heart. Heat from the ball of light, before nearly unnoticable, has become uncomfortable, increasing every time you encounter this light. Staring into the globe of green light, you can almost see what appears to be the interior of some type of antique wartime airplane. ~ 0 0 0 D2 ~ ~ 2 0 8406 S #8409 {BFarmhouse bedroom{X~ Bright green light fills the room, the epicenter of it the now-familiar pulsing ball of light. Furniture has been slung around the room and destroyed, reduced to wooden shrapnel now piled high in the corners. At first look, it seems that this is only a path to nowhere, leading a hapless traveller to their doom. Two skeletal pilots still man their posts, sitting an eternal wartime vigil. Upon closer examination, it appears one pilot has been shot in the head while the other has a large hole in his flight jacket; from the looks of it, both men died almost instantly, perhaps causing this crash. {X ~ 0 0 0 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 8439 S #8441 {DMidsection of the aircraft{X~ {wLarge holes perforate the body of the plane here, and three more skeletons, the plane's crew, litter the thin walkway. Small pieces of flesh still cling to a few of the skeletons; the smell of death, sweet and heady, still lingers in the air here. The floor underfoot sounds hollow, and there seems to be a small ring and trapdoor, perhaps leading to the bombadeer's bay. The bottom half of the glass bulb must have been torn off in the crash, and the tail gunner's legs along with it. Probably dropped in fear of a crash rather than at any target, the bay now stands empty and desolate. There are no skeletons here, however; the men manning this post were probably sucked out of the aircraft during the plane's rapid descent. It seems you are standing in a circular clearing with the forest vegetation thick all around you. Peering more intently into the shadows, familiar shapes emerge from the blackness. This edge of the clearing has become slightly overgrown, the jungle beginning to reclaim what is hers. Vines snake in and out of broken airplanes and bodies alike, creating almost a sense of a loving embrace for all eternity. All around, the horrors of death, war and the jungle surround this clearing. Strange noises eminate from everywhere, and the occasional audible screamed or mumbled word can be heard above the low murmur. The sweet scent of decaying flesh and vegetation permeates the air. To the west, an airplane's broken wing breaks the veil of the jungle, and you must stumble over it to proceed on. Deep in the shadows, the atmosphere is damp and rank, smelling of slowly rotting corpses and stale water. In the midst of the path lay a few mildewed bones, perhaps the legs of some poor soul. ~ 0 0 3 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 8459 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 8457 S #8459 {GDeep in the jungle{X~ The sky is completely blacked out by the canopy of trees overhead, making the navigation of this path more and more difficult. The shadows deepen up ahead, and the moans and screams have become more piercing, even louder than before. Moans and screams fill the air, and the scent of rotting vegetation assaults the senses of smell and taste. The tail section of a crashed airplane towers high above you, it's nose driven deep into the ground as a result of a high velocity impact. ~ 0 0 3 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 8450 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 8462 S #8462 {GBend in the jungle path{X~ The path is forced to make a turn here, as a plane has crashed and is blocking the way further west. It seems almost as though this path has been travelled quite a bit, but not by animals; you can just make out deep impressions of bootprints in the thick, black mud. ~ 0 0 3 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 8461 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 8463 S #8463 {GDeeper into the jungle{X~ Something seems even more strange in this part of the jungle. Bones lay flung about haphazardly across the path, almost as if a wild beast has torn apart some poor soul's body and left the pieces to rot where they lay. You note a slight movement out of the corner of your eye and a sudden increase in the intensity of the constant moaning. Perhaps this isn't the best spot in the jungle to be... {X ~ 0 0 3 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 8462 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 8464 S #8464 {GDeeper in the jungle{X~ The vegetation on all sides has become stifling, and the humidity deep in the jungle is almost unbearable. Another crashed plane flanks the path, this one almost fully intact, including the pilot. In bright red letters across the plane's nose, the words "Helga's Honey" are barely visible beneath the rust. The glass-topped cockpit has been shattered by some long-ago bullet, and the body of the pilot has long since lost all flesh. His white bones stand out starkly against the blackness of the shadows. ~ 0 0 3 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 8465 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 8463 S #8465 {GPath in the jungle{X~ Small rays of sunlight penetrate the dense canopy of trees overhead, illuminating patches of the path. Bootprints emerge from the thick, viscous mud, signifying the presence of someone? Something? Else in this place. A few bones stick out from the undergrowth, gleaming like polished ivory in the darkness of the shadows. ~ 0 0 3 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 8467 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 8465 S #8467 {GIntersection in the jungle{X~ The path comes to an abrupt end at this intersection, where it splits to form a north and south path. To the north, the shadows seem to lighten, and the sunlight is able to filter through the canopy of trees. To the south, the path delves further into the shadows of the jungle. ~ 0 0 3 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 8451 D2 ~ ~ 0 0 8468 D3 ~ ~ 0 0 8466 S #8468 {GDeeper into the jungle{x~ Here the path almost disappears into the undergrowth, but a few careful steps easily reclaims your intended path. Two huge limbs from two ancient trees criscross the path. Looking up, these limbs seem to gently cradle the shell of a rusted airplane, brought to it's final resting place by a lack of wings. ~ 0 0 3 D0 ~ ~ 0 0 8467 D1 ~ ~ 0 0 8469 S #8469 {GDeeper in the jungle{X~ Roots, branches and tangled vines forbid passage east, and the trail curves to the north here. The ancient trail, worn by thousands of years of hopeful men and women, lead up to and under the door, signaling that some have made it this far in the past. Polished white marble steps lead down into a still, tranquil pool of sparkling blue water. As you peer into the depths of the pool of water, you can see it's bottom far below, and see many bodies of those not worthy to receive the gifts of the Terackians. Across the water, perched on a small island of even more polished marble, is a huge statue of a woman on her knees, raising a sword in worship to some ancient god. A chasm, cut by nature, extends deep into the gound here.
